As a parent, you’re your dancer’s biggest fan—and that role is everything! While helping cover costs keeps them on the floor, it’s your encouragement, smiles, and support that truly fuel their confidence. Remind your child that their journey is their own, and being their best matters far more than keeping up with anyone else.
Dance is not a race—it’s a personal adventure! Every child learns and grows at their own pace, even in the same class. That’s what makes each dancer unique. Encourage your child to stay focused on their own progress, put their heart into every class, and celebrate all the little wins along the way.
Not every child will go on to become a professional dancer—and that’s perfectly fine! What matters most is what they gain from the experience. Through dance, children build confidence, learn discipline, discover teamwork, and see what they’re capable of when they work hard and stay committed.
Our goal is to nurture the whole dancer—mind, body, and spirit. Whether your child dances for a season or a lifetime, the lessons they learn here will stick with them far beyond the studio… and they’ll have a lot of fun along the way too!

At Sole Motion Dance Company, we believe every great dancer starts with a little joy and a lot of imagination! Our preschool program is designed to give young children a happy, confidence-building introduction to dance in a warm, supportive, and nurturing environment.
The first few weeks are all about settling in and feeling comfortable. Little dancers get to know their teacher, explore the studio, and make new friends—turning those first steps into smiles and excitement.
Each class is filled with music, movement, and fun! We help build coordination, listening skills, and creativity through playful activities, simple stretches, and beginner introductions to ballet, jazz, tap, and tumbling. Think songs, games, and lots of giggles along the way!
At this age, dance is all about imagination and self-expression. While children will learn basic steps, the real goal is to help them feel confident, creative, and proud of themselves. Every child develops differently, and that’s exactly how it should be—there’s no rush when it comes to growing into their own rhythm.
If your child feels a little nervous, shy, or unsure about class, that’s completely normal. New experiences can take time, and we’re here to support them gently every step of the way.
We want dance to be a place they love to be. That’s why we never rush or force participation—sometimes a little patience is all it takes. And if they’re not quite ready yet, no problem at all! We’ll be here, ready to welcome them back whenever they feel excited to give it another twirl.

At Sole Motion Dance Company, our dress code helps create a polished, team-like feel where every dancer can shine! When everyone is dressed similarly, it keeps the focus on learning, builds a sense of belonging, and helps dancers feel confident and included.
Wearing proper dancewear also lets our teachers clearly see movement and technique, so they can offer the best guidance and encouragement in every class.
Here are a few happy little reminders to keep things smooth and stress-free:
Label all items with your child’s name (those tiny shoes love to wander!)
Keep watches and jewellery safe at home
Dance shoes are just for the studio—no outdoor exploring!
Long hair should be neatly pulled back
Ballet dancers, don’t forget your beautiful bun!
Thank you for helping us create a positive, focused, and fun environment where every dancer can feel their best and enjoy every step!

It’s completely natural for parents (and dancers!) to sneak a peek and wonder how they compare—but every dancer’s journey is beautifully unique. If your child starts comparing themselves to others, gently bring the focus back to what truly matters: their own progress, their personal victories, and their love of dance.
Feeling inspired by other dancers? That’s wonderful! Inspiration can be a great motivator. But negative comparisons can take away from confidence and joy. The same goes for conversations—little ears are always listening! Speaking kindly and positively about teachers, classmates, and other families helps create a supportive and encouraging studio community. Children often reflect what they hear, especially when it comes to how they treat others.
At Sole Motion Dance Company, we’re passionate about nurturing not only strong dancers, but kind, confident, and respectful individuals. Our teachers lead by example, encouraging every student to grow with confidence, kindness, and joy.
If you ever have questions about your child’s progress or class placement, we’re always here to help! Feel free to connect with us and chat with the director. Our instructors spend lots of time with your dancer and bring valuable experience and insight—we love supporting every step of their journey.

At our studio, we’re all about creating a joyful, supportive, and professional environment where every dancer feels welcome and valued. Being part of our dance family means showing kindness, respect, and care—for classmates, teachers, families, and even our studio space. Great habits on and off the dance floor help everyone shine!
Our teachers are wonderful role models who guide students with encouragement and positivity. When challenges arise (because learning is all part of the journey!), we treat them as opportunities to grow. Dancers are gently supported in understanding what happened and encouraged to make positive choices moving forward.
If disagreements pop up, we help students take a moment, share their feelings, and work things out together. It’s all about learning to communicate, problem-solve, and build strong, respectful friendships.
If a dancer gets a little off track, we start with a friendly reminder to refocus. Sometimes a quick reset break helps them return ready to learn and have fun again.
In the rare case that extra support is needed, we may connect with a parent or guardian to ensure the best experience for everyone in class.
Our goal is always the same: to help every child grow into not only a confident dancer, but also a kind, respectful, and thoughtful person
